  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 pancakes 1x
  • Category: Breakfast
  • Cuisine: Pancakes

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 tbsp. Sugar
  • 3 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 3 1/2 cups Buttermilk – room temperature
  • 3 Eggs – room temperature
  • 1/3 cup Butter – melted
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Melt butter, and set aside for later.
  2. Sift together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
  4. Pour liquid ingredients into bowl of dry ingredients. Gently start to whisk together.
  5. Add melted butter to the mixture.
  6. Whisk until all ingredients have just come together. We still want some lumps in the batter.
  7. Let batter rest for a few minutes while your griddle heats up.
  8. Scoop batter onto your griddle, being careful not to overcrowd them.
  9. Allow pancakes to cook to a beautiful golden brown before flipping.
    1. Look for bubbles to start forming on top of pancakes. This is a good indication that it is safe to lift the side of the pancake for a color check.
  10. Once pancakes have reached a golden brown color on the first side, flip them and cook the second side to golden perfection.
  11. Serve hot with your favorite toppings!
