Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/3 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Butter – melted
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Egg  Yolk
  • 1 1/3 cup Bittersweet Chocolate Chips or Dark Chocolate Chips
  • Optional: Flaky Sea Salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325-degrees. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper, set aside.
  2. Melt the butter.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk in one egg and one egg yolk.
  6. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not of overmix the dough.
  7. Stir in the chocolate chip.
  8. Scoop cookies into about 3 tablespoon sized balls.
  9. Place on your baking sheet being sure to leave plenty of room for cookies to expand.
  10. Sprinkle cookies with flaky sea salt, and then place in the oven.
  11. Bake at 325-degrees for 8 minutes. Rotate your pans and bake for an additional 8 minutes, or until the cookies are lightly golden around the edges.
  12. Allow the cookies to cool and finish setting on the baking sheet.
